Flicker and pain

As an ex-cataloguer I am not sure I like the idea of tags- after all who monitors what tags are used?!

I am not keen on sharing my own photographs as they are mostly of my children however I can see advantages for libraries in showing the world what is in their collections or events taking place.

As I am in pain from extraction of my wisdom teeth a couple of days ago I searched for wisdom teeth. Some gory pictures there. I found a couple I liked but having trouble uploading them. Time for more painkillers, will try again another time.

First blog entry

I am excited to have finally started to catch up with the rest of the world! Working part time at present I feel the clients of the library know more than I do and I cannot always help with their IT queries. I will be doing this course at home but hope it will benefit me at work as well.

I had some understanding of blogs but didn't realise the variety of applications- thought they were a bit like a diary entry of someone I had no interest in. I like the way some other libraries have used them as newsletters.

Just to practice- I will add a picture of my cat Mango for whom the first part of my blog name derives. This cat recently cost me $900 or so in vet fees for a suspected tick bite and I think he used up a few of his nine lives.
